Writefull with Extended AI features
Available for VSB-TUO users since 2020.
You need to create a personal account using your university email address:
Writefull is available online as Writefull X, or as the Writefull for Word and Writefull for Overleaf add-ins.
- In Writefull, you can choose a language model: the default setting is Writefull’s model, which is designed for editing and checking texts in English. For checking texts written in languages other that English, the GPT model must be selected. (The text is sent to OpenAI’s servers, where it may be stored for up to 30 days, but it is not used to train models.)
- Spelling: you can choose between British and American English.
- Sentence Palette: collection of example phrases that are very commonly used in academic writing.
Writefull Features
- Check paragraph(s): checking the selected paragraph
- Check document: checking the entire document
- Generate: help with generating a title or abstract
- Synonyms in Context: after selecting any word or phrase, Writefull offers appropriate alternatives – synonyms
Furthermore, Writefull includes AI features such as Rewrite, Summarize, and Explain, which are currently unavailable because they are not part of the active subscription plan.
Writefull Revise
- Writefull Revise is an online language correction tool for checking a finished article before submitting it to a publisher or conference organiser. Accessible only from the university's Internet network (you can connect from home or abroad to the university network via VPN).
Writefull Cite
- Writefull Cite is an online tool that uses linguistic algorithms and AI to identify cited sources to identify parts of academic text that should be referenced in the literature. Accessible only from the university's Internet network (you can connect to the university network from home or abroad via VPN).
