This month’s CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform™ release features several enhancements to your CAS SciFinder® search experience, plus an export improvement.
Search enhancements in CAS SciFinder
We have implemented the following enhancements into your search experience:
- Reaction search natural language improvements – Text searches for reactions have been enhanced with AI-driven query interpretation. AI, trained with CAS data, is being leveraged to provide precise and accurate query interpretation resulting in more focused, relevant results. This includes queries containing substance names, CAS Registry Numbers®, molecular formulas, substance classes, and functional groups to identify reaction participants.
- Expanded reaction role recognition – When a reacting participant is identified in a query, the query will expand to include the participant in the reactant or reagent role.
- Expanded reference document identifier recognition – Searching for references using document identifiers now features improved query recognition. The presence of a document identifier in your query will now trigger a reference intent allowing the recognition of more variations in document identifiers, such as patent numbers including kind codes, with and without spaces.
Improved CAS SciFinder XLSX export performance
Updates to reference result exports in XLSX format will result in improved performance and reduce extraneous data. The export menu option no longer automatically includes all available content, instead prompting you to select the data you want to include.
