Research funders, institutions and publishers are increasingly talking about Open Research. As a broad term which encourages accessibility, transparency and reproducibility of research and supporting information, Open Research includes the practices of sharing data, code, preprints, methods, or working in new ways such as Registered Reports.

In this webinar, we will present the core tenets of open research and give relevant examples.

There will be time for discussion and Q&A.

Speakers:

Matt Cannon is the Head of Open Research for Taylor & Francis based in the UK. He helps set journal policies and establishes best practice to increase the reproducibility and transparency of research. He is a member of the Research Data Alliance, FORCE11 and on the steering group of the STM Publishing Association’s Research Data Project.

Dr. Rebecca Taylor-Grant is Head of Open Data Initiatives at Taylor & Francis, where she leads the development of policies and practices to increase open and FAIR data sharing. She has a background in data management for the humanities and social sciences and is co-chair of the STM Association’s Research Data Program Humanities Data Subgroup, as well as the Research Data Alliance Data policy standardisation and implementation Interest Group. She is a qualified Open Data trainer certified by the Open Data Institute.
